When asked, “How do you write?” I invariably answer, “One word at a time,” and the answer is invariably dismissed. But that is all it is. It sounds too simple to be true, but consider the Great Wall of China, if you will: one stone at a time, man. That’s all. One stone at a time. But I’ve read you can see that motherfucker from space without a telescope. — Stephen King
Day 17 - Favorite mini series
The Stand
I’ve always been a fan of post-apocalyptic stories, and also have always liked Stephen King. This was a tough one to pick, at first, as there are a few mini-series I’ve liked a lot (and a few I’m quite fond of from growing up with them, i.e. Shogun and The Thorn Birds). But, The Stand, is the one that I’ve watched, and re-watched, and would still re-watch again.
I’m sure having Stephen King write the teleplay helped this to be a good adaptation of his book, as well.
The book and the miniseries are both top notch.
